stehen; kurz davor loszufahren.
The end is
coming quickly … and it comes in the disguise of the pre-Christmas period! Last
weekend we went to Plymouth again. This time we went to the Smeaton’s light
house first and afterwards to the harbour, where the Mayflower steps are. Sir
Francis Drake started his circumnavigation of the world right here. Then
strolled through the Barbican quarter and finally through the shopping centre
(buying the last Christmas presents) before we finally went to the station. We
were roughly one minute late which means we saw our train standing next to the
platform, just about to leave. Therefore, we were not only short of breath
(because we had been running) but also really frustrated because the next train
arrived 30 minutes later. Not to mention that we had to wait one and a half
hour at the station in Newton Abbot for the same reasons. -.-
There is
not a lot going on every Sunday because we usually just do our homework or
relax. I was in the cinema last week (Tributes of Panem). In addition, I
received a parcel from my parents – full of clothes for winter, self-made
Stollen and Christmas cookies, a little present for Nicolaus and a huge
Christmas calendar. Could life be better?
Anyway, we
intended to go to Penzance yesterday, but we changed our minds because there is
not a lot to see and it takes an awful lot of time to go there. So we went to
Exeter again. The last time together…
There was a
Christmas market, imitating the German ones where you could buy all kinds of
food or other little things.
For me,
there will be a test, an essay, the finishing of my course work and an exam in
the next two weeks. Puuuh…
Although we
are quite melancholic because of the coming farewell, I am looking forward to
going home, meeting my family, my friends, my cat… nevertheless, I am glad that
I will return to Torquay!
